A bit more about Gordo
Hello, my name is Gordon Schott (aka "Gordo the Magician") and I'd like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself and what I do.
Magic has been a hobby of mine ever since I was in elementary school. I still remember the first actual show I saw at a friend's birthday party - I must have been in about third grade - and it really made an impression on me. I mean, here was this ordinary looking man standing in front of me doing the most extraordinary things.
I remember all the strange but fascinating looking props he used; each one holding some marvelous secret that I was just itching to unravel. The magic itself kept me captivated, but it was the magic OF magic that makes me remember that show to this very day, several decades later.
You see, there's just something about magic that brings out the kid in all of us, and if performed well it leaves a lasting impression. For that very reason, anytime I do a show - whether it's at a child's birthday party or in a six hundred seat auditorium - I pull out all the stops and do my very best to give my audience more than just an hour's worth of fun; but also a memory that they'll hopefully carry with them for years to come.
I have performed in a variety of venues from restaurants to large auditoriums and can cater my act to suit any age group or demographic. I do a LOT of children's shows (mostly school shows and of course birthday parties), but I also do a good number of adult and mixed-shows as well. I am a past President of the Ann Arbor Magic Club, as well as a proud member of both the Society of American Magicians and the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
